About West Bali

Ngaben is a unique traditional ceremony in Bali that is also practiced in West Bali District. It is a holy ritual for the soul of the dead. This is ceremony is done by the children of the dead, where they are responsible for carrying out the ceremony. This ceremony is intended to return the spirit of the dead to be united to the creator, Ida Sanghyang Widhi Wasa. According to Hindu doctrine practiced in Bali, this ceremony is considered as the last ceremony of one's circle of life in the world.
